Another eternity
Well.. time to make another stab at keeping a my journal updated with some level of regularity. The last year has been a bit of a whirlwind, but I guess they all are.
Most of the year I was loaned from the Promotions team to the Your Account team at Amazon. They were in need of some a strong senior engineer to reshape the team and build up some team momentum. I helped get some major company initiatives rolling. During the course of the 9 months or so I was on that team we grew the team from 4 people up to 12. Simultaneously, the Promotions team also nearly doubled and I played a big role in bringing them up to speed.
Outside work, the most noteful event in the last many months was when I took all of December off and just relaxed, doing as little as possible. For one of those weeks, christmas, I went on a cruise with my family. It was really nice to be able to spend more than a day with them like usually happens. For the first time ever I got to actually get to know my step-brother's daughters, step-nieces, I guess. For trip and family pictures, take a look:
