'rafters.'" - Aram, cleverly covering up his misspelling of
'rafters'. (Session 72)

The following Session Logs detail
the adventures and misadventures of my Thardferr
group. They were first known as the Fellowship of the Hawk, up until
Session 68, and then became the Scions of Destiny. Much of the following
information is private, but much is also fairly accessible to any who care to
investigate. Use your discretion, and ask Myth
if you're unsure.

Past Sessions

Shade) was sent forth from Starwood to seek out
and capture a would-be elven assassin. They traveled west across
Ruch. 8/4/99.
- Tantar and Thassandriel joined, but Trent and Shade left. The party
investigated their elusive quarry in a small town. 8/10/99.

and a small village called The Downs. Gaiden angered a wyvern. 8/18/99.

challenged their leader to a duel. He was knocked cold, as were many
of the other party members. 9/27/99.

gather firewood for the orcish bandits' stewpot. The party attacked
and overcame their guards, looted the bandits' treasure, and fled before the
bulk of the bandits returned to the cavern. 16/6/99.
- This was the first Session on Hesperian. The party saved a druid's
tree, and were joined by Kaerin. Aspen was killed by worgs. The
party met the High Druid, and got the cure for the sickness on the

- Brendon rushed forward to attack the orcs, and the party was soundly
defeated. They retreated in a rout. 12/1/99.

the orcs. Many orcish prisoners were taken. Legchewer bought his
freedom with lies and deceptions. 12/15/99.
- Bren killed the orcish captives. The party investigated long-unused
dwarven mining tunnels. 12/28/99.

sought out the worgs that had killed Brendon. They met a dryad.
The combat with Billy the Hill Giant and his worg pets began. 1/5/00.
- The party was nearly killed by the huge giant, but the giant and his worg
hounds fled the arrival of an odd coyote. The coyote led the party to
an ancient man, Caligor. The party met a leprechaun. The combat
with the hill giant and his worgs resumed. 1/12/00.
- The Fellowship finished Billy off and retrieved various treasures from his
bag. The leprechaun stole one of these, a non-magical gemstudded
ring. The party traveled to Coopersville, where Brendon turned himself
in for the murder of the orcish captives. 1/19/00.
- Jenirot joined. Bren was acquitted of the charges against him.
1/26/00.
25-a: Tekh and Draven convinced Dylsara to leave with them for Edilar in one week in
a side-session.
25-b: Tekh and Draven spoke with Speaker Eldo and Dylsara. Dylsara said that she'd rethought the trip, and would not leave Coopersville.
25-c: Gaiden tested for the IMG's IMI branch.
25-d: Tekh tested for the IMG's IMC branch.
25-e: Jenirot attained his Spirit Guide, whom he hopes to someday take as a Familiar.
- Gaiden and Tekhtarast became members of the Imperial Mages' Guild.
Taliesin warned of orcish assassins threatening the Coronation. The
party attempted to warn someone, and the orcish assassins struck at Taliesin
from the stone floors of the palace. Coopersville burned,
and Eldo was assassinated. The party accompanied Torin Brand for a
time, then took Dylsara out of the violent goings-on in the city. 2/2/00.
- Aeron and D'Ellis joined the group. Due to Gurm's forces to the
south, the group journeyed north, accompanying Dylsara on her journey toward
Edilar. A would-be assassin of the princess is slain. The party is
ambushed by bandits just north of Trader's Ferries, and the bandits are
captured. 2/9/00.
The following Sessions occurred after I stopped
writing Session logs, and are taken from the Trip Tickets.
- The bandits are released, and their leader dies by mysterious
poison. The party explored a fire during the night in Trader's
Ferries, and gathered loot. 2/9/00.
- A wight attacked. The party arrived in Dansville, where the Darkwood
convinced Dylsara to accompany them, over the protests of the party.
Dylsara and a few party members were rushed off in an elven Raker.
2/16/00.
29-a: Half of the party convinced a group of Giant Hawks to journey to
Serreningtown and enlist themselves with the elves there.
29-b: Tekhtarast nearly saved Dylsara from an elven kidnapper.
- The Giant Hawks arrived at the Norben platform in Serreningtown.
D'Ellis was poisoned by the black rose found in Trader's Ferries. The
investigation for Dylsara's kidnapper progressed. August and Vitriol
joined. 2/23/00.
- The party and a group of Darkwood elves had a vicious tussle that ended with August being pitched into the Blood Lake to "cool off." The party learned that a dozen Nightwalkers were sent to silence D'Ellis and Draven's inquiries about "The Rose." D'Ellis received revelation from a Chosen of
Kaldinsky. 3/1/00.
- Gillion and Eleanor joined. King Morlan Barden was crowned King of
Edilar, and promptly announced the expulsion of all members of the Norben
Brotherhood from Norben Island. The party investigated Edelemyrra, the
holy elven "Pool of Life." They descended into the cave
formed by the sad rotting of a Lunar Trunk cavity, and were ambushed by
enemies. 3/8/00.
- The party was quickly outclassed by the number and ferocity of their
assailants. They fell back, some diving into Edelemyrra to
escape. D'Ellis performed an incredibly heroic and lucky rescue of the
unconscious Vitriol. The Blue Lady spoke very angrily and
disapprovingly of the party entering Edelemyrra. Brendon, August, and
Eleanor perished in the ambush. 3/15/00.
(No Game on 3/22/00)
- The party slowly re-investigated the caverns, but the hostile forces
didn't engage them. Added Ethir and Gi'Ames. 3/29/00.
- The party was decimated. Through clever trickery, Ethir convinced
the enemy to throw the party into Edelemyrra in order to kill them.
The party was belched forth, months later, healed and stripped of all
possessions. 4/5/00.
- The party was reunited at Edelemyrra, after Morlan's troops found the
tunnels collapsed and sealed. The Blue Lady icily informed the group
that she was "leaving." The group found another Lunar Trunk
entrance to the catacombs beneath Edelemyrra, and heard combat. They
entered via a cesspit, and helped to rescue Dylsara from her captors.
The party rescued a hideous baby and some elves, as well. Both sides
of the combat retreated, exhausted and badly damaged. Dalan's and
Nightwolf's groups joined with mine in the battle and retreat. A
Nightwalker pursued the party's flight, but couldn't enter the daylight
above. 4/12/00.
- One of the high elf prisoners rescued by the party pronounced trial on the
elven outlaws, and ordered them cast out of Edilar rather than killed.
The party flew on pegasi over the Blood Lake, toward Dansville. 4/19/00.
- The party got supplies in Dansville and journeyed to the Barleyman farm in
the Free Hills. 4/26/00.
- The party rescued Faile (Gaiden's giant falcon familiar) from
kobolds. They found an elven Raker full of hobgoblins heading toward
Norben Island, and captured it. They emptied the mercenaries from it
and sailed it toward Norben Island themselves. 5/3/00.
- Isyl joined. The captain and mate lit a fire and threw the ship's
wheel overboard during a storm. The rudder snapped, and the ship was
stranded on the Blood Lake for days. 5/10/00.
- For two weeks, the Raker floated in the Lake. Another Raker finally
found them and towed them to shore. Brosk joined. The party
landed on Norben Island and tracked the other Raker to a partially-submerged
cave, where they nearly lost Taliesin to a raft full of hobgoblins. 5/17/00.
- The party travelled deep below the earth of Norben Island, in natural stone tunnels formed from long-ago volcanic activity.
5/24/00.
- The PCs found an underground saltwater stream, and many bugs and fungus. They also found three coffins, with strange, fungus-covered, moving shapes on the walls above the coffins.
The Duple-Garan with the party was assaulted several times telepathically, and reverted to her natural form..
5/31/00.
- The party found zombies embedded into the wall, covered in fungus.
Angus fell into an icy subterranean stream and over a rocky, steeply
inclined cliff/slope. The party's spellcasters hurtled after him in an
attempt to save him, and literally leapt into an ambush. A hidden cave
above concealed hostile orcs, who attacked the fighters climbing down
it. 6/7/00.
- A terrible combat erupted, with spells, missiles, and blades flying
wildly. The enemy retreated, and two deep elves approached the
party. 6/14/00.
- The party was bound by deep elves, and when they resisted, they were
beaten unconscious. The deep elves were about to kill the captives,
since they couldn't transport them down a cliff face, so Gaiden pushed Angus
off the cliff, causing a terrible racket. The deep elves shoved the
entire party off the cliff and fled the noise. Brosk and Gi'Ames died
in the fall. The party rested for a bit, then D'Ellis rediscovered the
deep elves and the party rejoined them and entered a passage. 6/21/00.
- Jonas joined the party. The party passed through a Seal into the
Deep Dark. They met a Dark Elf who spoke to D'Ellis in High
Elven. 6/28/00.
- Renol joined the party. The party spent three days awaiting the return of BloodWeeper, then travelled for weeks into the Deep Dark. Upon arrival, they were placed into a more comfortable keeping-place for another week.
Tekhtarast got some loving. 7/5/00.
- The party spent a week learning a bit of the Deep Elven tongue, as well as resting, studying, and talking. Then they travelled down to a sleeping place, where Aeron regaled everyone with mixed Bardic and Illusion talents. Everyone present, Deep Elves included, had a disturbing dream. After sleeping, the party and their Deep Elven guides boarded a huge stone ship and set sail for "The Home."
7/12/00.
- The group entered The Home and Aeron and Vitriol gave a musical
performance. The party rested. 7/19/00.
- The party traveled by stone boat to rescue an ancient prophetic
sword. After losing a deep elf to the predations of Aboleth, the stone
ship was hurtled by deep elven magic across the water's surface at an
incredible speed. The party ambushed and defeated a party of Aboleth,
Illithid, and beholderkin, and retrieved the artifact sword. 7/26/00.
- D'Ellis was given the Peaceblade, a relic blade of the Deep Elven people.
He was also given a strange translation device called the Urim. The Deep Elves prepared an army to follow the Fellowship to the surface and free Edilar.
8/2/00.
- For months, the party trained and learned among the deep elves. They
ascended at the head of a vast deep elven army, which poured forth into the
Starwood and began to decimate Morlan's humanoid armies. D'Ellis held
the Peaceblade aloft to rally the deep elven forces. The sun didn't
emerge in the morning, and for a night and a day and a night, the deep elves
slaughtered Morlan's troops. 8/9/00.
- The Deep Elves, loosely guided by the Fellowship of the Hawk, fought another night of bloodshed and death, and broke the back of King Morlan's army. D'Ellis was disintegrated by a Beholder.
8/16/00.
- The battle rages on by night. Despite the apparent disfavor of the Gods of Battle, the battle was finally won. Morlan was slain, and his troops driven into the waters of Blood Lake, where they were
butchered. Aram joined. The group traveled to Navelorn, and informed them that Norben Island was freed of Morlan's
tyranny. 8/23/00.
- Vitriol vanished during the night. The party searched for her, travelling first to her old home, and then finding her tracks and following them into the northeast woods, toward the Horde Lands. Aeron accused Kral of being a vampire.
8/30/00.
56-a. Angus, Aeron, and Aram rescued Vitriol from an illithid.
- Renol (SunCaster) gave the Urim back to the deep elves. Kral was investigated because of Aeron's allegations that he was a vampire.
During that investigation, Kral's research into the cure for the Lunar decay was ruined.
Kral died in his sleep in the library. Renol was blown apart while
investigating a spellbook acquired from the deep elves. 9/6/00.
- The party travelled via Raker to Danville, where Aeron vanished. The party travelled to CoopersvilleForge. They succesfully captured a band of 7 would-be-assassins in a scummy tavern, although one of the assassins (the leader) was found dead the next morning.
Jelani joined. 9/13/00.
- No Trip Ticket. :( The party investigated the would-be
assassins, but learned little. 9/20/00.
- No Trip Ticket. :( 9/27/00.
- No Trip Ticket. :( 10/4/00.
- No Trip Ticket. :( 10/11/00.
- No Trip Ticket. :( The party delved into the sewers beneath
Coopersville and met Elle, an aquatic Fey. She charmed them into
helping her to retrieve her shawl. 10/18/00.
- The party fled the hobgoblins and returned to the surface. Elle
convinced many of them to return to the depths with her to retrieve her
shawl. Lilly left. 10/25/00.
- The group encounters more hobgoblins with Jonas almost dying, but all survive with Lilly's magical help. Backtracking to where they slew the Shadow beast, Elle's shawl is nowhere to be found. Lilly and Aram dislike Elle's attitude, and in the end, Elle releases the group from her charms, sending us back to the
surface. 11/1/00.
- Aeron, the Rebel Bard, was captured by Tekhtarast, Angus, Jelani, and a
bounty hunter. 11/8/00.
- Aeron is beheaded in an OOS cell. The Fellowship of the Hawk is ripped apart by inner turmoil, and Tekhtarast and Angus are ostracized by the others for adhering to their "inner blocks."
They and Jelani split from the group. 11/15/00.
(No Game on 11/22/00)
- The group began to look for clues that might lead them to Aeron Tevesh's true fate and location.
11/29/00.
- The party sought out a "Singing Monster" in the forest east of Coopersville, but found nothing but rumors.
12/6/00.
- Verin joined. They traveled through bitter snows to Windtown, seeking the Bounty Hunter "Eeyala.".
12/13/00.
- Jelek joined. The party couldn't find Eeyala. Jonas shacked up with a woman. The party did odd jobs and relaxed for 7 months then headed back to Coops.
12/20/00.
- The party signed on with a Watcher merchant and his goblin guide, to find where
Earthsblood comes from. They traveled to Trader's Ferries, and got a
room at the Bucket o' Slop. During the night they were ambushed by orcs and goblins.
Verin escaped, Aram was butchered, and Mahdia was doomed to a fate as a slave or worse.
12/27/00.
(NO Game on 1/3/01)
- Ancaren joined. He and Jonas journeyed east along the Kawi. They were ambushed by bandits. An elf
(Aerys) and a human (Melinor) revealed themselves and helped the group to trounce the bandits. They all arrived at Newford and beat the crud out of a Goblin Slaver and his guards, killing the Slaver. Aerys and Melinor freed the slaves, and became Hunted by the Goblin Slavers. The party met Guppa, a goblin, and bought a ton of information from
him. 1/10/01.
- Guppa provided a goblin translator named Blurph. The party headed north, and overcame a bad case of accidental poor doctoring of blisters. The group arrived in Nimbortan and obtain bunks at the Inn of 14 Virtues. They met with a cleric of Anthor, and accepted a mission from him.
1/17/01.
- Akark joined. The group decided to masquerade as a nobleman and his
retainers. (Ancaren became Casius) They bought some supplies and clothing. They spoke at some length with Mikael Grechev, owner of the Winged Victory.
1/24/01.
- Tarsonis joined. The party went hunting, and investigated the Earthsblood Fields.
They got an obscure message requesting a meeting. They were ousted
from their bunks at the Inn of 14 Virtues by a merchant, and forced to
reside at the Winged Victory Inn. They investigated a local blacksmith
who owns a slink. 1/31/01.
- The party met Gurney Dain, the High Sherriff on Nimbortan, and befriended
him. Next they met with C'ruthers McKay at Rigger's Den. Jonas defeated a
surly orc in a wrestling match. Melinor was all but slain by a troll
in the forest. 2/7/01.
- The party was shown a basket full of what appears to be spell scrolls. They discovered the lair of the troll who'd attacked Melinor, and dispatched it, but found evidence that the troll was not simply a mindless monster.
2/13/01.
- The party was accosted by Monitors, and picked a fight. Jonas was killed (though he somehow recovered) and the others jailed. Melinor's tongue was cleft. The party, MacKurian, and Sherriff Gurney Dain were expelled from
Nimbortan. 2/21/01.
- The party found themselves thrust out into the early spring of winter, at the foothills of the Icy Mountains. They holed up in a dilapidated shack, where Melinor froze to death during the night. Gurney got some supplies from town, but the extra blankets failed to keep the frost from claiming the life of Tarsonis, as well. The party, aided by Aerys' spellbinding, made a nightmarish journey through the spring winds to Newford.
2/28/01.
- The group was approached by MacKurian's supervisor, who offered them payment of 200 crowns each for retrieval of information. The party outfitted themselves and set up a base camp outside Nimbortan. Dephrim and Aerys ventured within the town.
3/7/01.
- Aerys and Dephrim returned safely. Most of the party defeated an ambush by bandits. The party retrieved Akark's spellbook and met with C'ruthers. Dephrim met with Mikael Grechev to discuss a possible slink purchase.
3/14/01.
- Dephrim arranged a possible meeting with those who sell the slinks, through Grisson. Dephrim and Fen were nearly caught while burglarizing Grisson's office in the Miners' Guild.
3/21/01.

3/28/01.
- The party sought Dephrim near Nimbortan, then probed the ruins of Castle Hydell. There Aerys felt Dephrim's presence, and the party investigated the ruins by night, finding an illusion-cloaked entrance to the dungeons beneath the ruins.
4/4/01.
- The party met up with three backup persons as Fen rejoined the group. They all entered Castle Hydell, and faced down an illusion of a Sythian Mage.
4/11/01.
