On Thursday, October 17, emergency services in Austin participated with the help of the communityi to stage a mock disaster at the University of Texas at Austin. Designed to test the response and as a as an learning experience, TCSCAAA members were among those supporting the exercise. A variety of simulated injuries were created with latex, wax, fake blood, rock candy and plastic (for simulated glass shards),and other trauma. Called moulage, the trauma makeup helps provide a realistic experience for the people working the excerise.
